Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Monday, January 6, 2020
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We spotted a car at the Wachusett ski area. They just had us park where all the skiers parked. We parked the other car where we started the section, the Midstate parking area in Rutland on Rt 68 at the corner of Intervale. It hadn't been plowed recently but was still accessible. Might have been a little difficult if the cars were 2 wheel drive.

Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: A couple of blowdowns near the beginning of the 2012 reroute heading northbound. One could be straddled and stepped over, the other a duckunder. Maybe ok till spring. Another blowdown further along, I forget where, but not too bad to step over

Comments
Comments: A northbound section of the Midstate Trail. Rt 68 to Wachusett ski area. Microspikes were very useful. The trail was pretty icy and was being coated with about a half inch of fresh snow by the end of the day. Temperature hovered around freezing most of the day, warmed up by midafternoon. Beautiful day. Thanks to Lone Wolf for a good hike.
