None of note, but muddy sections along the west edge of Blood Swamp took a little careful stepping. |
|

Well marked and easy to follow. |
|
 | Dog-Related Notes: |
Had a good one with us, and met a number of others. |
|
 | Bugs: |
Lots. What do you expect in a New Enland swamp in mid-May? My companions had a grand time with them but they left me alone - recognized me as Assisi-like pacifist, I think. |

 | Comments: |
Segment 5 of a S-N traverse by rocknrolls and me of the Midstate Trail, joined by Dugan (as on several prior legs) and Caboodle. 9.4 miles (including detours) that featured Long Pond and Blood Swamp. Lots of wildflowers in bloom. |
