Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Water was extremely low. Even if you walked through, it wouldn't go in a traditional hiking boot. But you can easily rock hop.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail was in great shape. No snow or ice, just a few muddy patches that could easily be avoided or hopped over.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Our three active dogs - lab/collie mutt, coonhound/lab mutt, and small westie were happy as can be! This was an easy hike, really more of a trail walk with some elevation gain for them.
Bugs
Bugs: None

Comments
Comments: Had a great sunrise hike on Mount Carrigain. Beautiful, moderate hike. First 2.5 miles are relatively flat and easy, more of a trail walk in the woods. Last 2.5 miles are a steady incline with rocks and roots but nothing major. There were no hand scrambles, or even high knees needed on this hike. The last .5 miles, you are walking on a very comfortable ridge line where you can actually enjoy the views around you. Beautiful trail and summit, and we would absolutely do again, especially at sunrise! Or if you can catch this before the road closes or don't mind the extra road walk, this would be such a fun hike to do in the snow.
