|Hiking Trail Conditions Report|
||Mt. Todd, MA|
||Nature Trail, Mahican-Mohawk Trail, Indian Trail|
|Date of Hike:
||Monday, January 18, 2021|
|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Ample Space in lot behind buildings, which was plowed. There is a gate, but it's not closed at night |
||Ice - Black, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular |
||Snowshoes, Light Traction |
|Water Crossing Notes:
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||A few lean over/duck under trees.
The signs were helpful, especially at the 4 way junction near the summit. |
||Saw none, but a few footprints suggested some had been there earlier |
|Lost and Found:
||Most people bare booted. One set of snowshoe tracks was visible. We took the loop suggested in AMC's Best Dayhikes in Central Massachusetts, going counter clockwise.|
The sun came out as we summited, but the views were less extensive than they would've been on a clear day.
The sidehill section on the northbound quadrant of the loop was a fun challenge. It would've been tricky without microspikes....I guess the barebooters held onto tree.
