 | Comments: |
While it was cloudy, windy and lightly snowing for most of the day, our hike was terrific. We hiked from the community center in Cheshire to Rt 2 in North Adams. The trail before Greylock's summit had ice and my microspikes went on a few miles in. My hiking buddy kept his off until the summit. We took them off at Mt Williams and had no problem descending. The snow/ice was sometimes thick heading up to Greylock, and we had to avoid some postholes. The trail was pretty clear the rest of the way after that, with just a smattering of snow. One warm sunny day will melt it all, I'm sure. |
