|Parking/Access Road Notes:
||Plenty at 10 am |
||Dry Trail |
|Water Crossing Notes:
||None on this trail |
|Trail Maintenance Notes:
||One blowdown about 2.5 mi from Skinner State Park entrance; if you’re talk it’s a step over |
||Saw quite a few with their trail-running humans. |
||Yes siree, and they were hungry as day progressed to dusk. I sprayed 3x and toward the end it seemed futile. |
|Lost and Found:
||First success at the entire Trail of the Seven Sisters and whoa was it a workout. I’ve read that there are actually 10 little summits and having to ascend them on return, even if they were only 300-600’ gain, is really something on return with tiring legs. The Summit House is open 9-4 with restrooms and water refill station access til 7 pm which is nice. |
Given this rainy summer and storms the day before, the trail was in fabulous shape with no mud and only a few wet rocks.
Bare Mountain’s summit is getting overgrown but there’s still a lovely vantage point at the top, as there are at the 2.8 mi clearing and the 4.0 Mt Hitchcock outlook.
