Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Parked on a lot along Chickatawbut road at a trail head. Lots seem to accommodate about 2-3 dozen cars with front in parking. Multiple spots at my noon arrival, but all were occupied at my 2:30 departure. Views of Boston skyline from the lot between trees.

Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Coop had a great time back hiking local hills. All were very easy for him, except section of the skyline trail ascending the south side of Chickatawbut Hill requiring slabbing. It was towards the end of our 10 miles and his 12yr pup body may have tired by this point. Big plus were the multiple small streams for drinking and a cool off along side several trails. Lots of friendly pups out on the trails today.

Comments
Comments: Haven't hiked this part of the Blue Hills much, but wanted to get away from the crowds. Still lots of people out enjoying this section of the park and trails. Headed up to the Skyline trail, but shortly turned off to wander un-named roads south of Skyline. Hawk Hill was pleasant, but the trail around the north side through an open forest of tall white pines with a pine needle carpet was especially nice. Trails were dry with minimal early morning moisture on rocks/leaves. Could change with coming winter storm.
