Parking at the Race Brook Trailhead can be tight; fortunately, I was the first one there this morning, so no issues for me. |

A couple crossings, particularly the one right at the falls, were a little on the tricky side. |

A few blowdowns/debris areas on Race Brook Trail; easily bypassed. |

Almost all the snow and ice is gone on the Race Brook Trail and the AT between the summits of Mt. Race and Everett. The few areas of snow and ice that hadn't completely melted did not warrant traction of any kind. That said, some areas had quite a bit of ponding and running water, particularly the AT going up Mt. Everett. Oh well, I'd take that over the slopfest that is, and will likely to continue to be for a while, the White Mountain 4,000 footers.
No views from the summits of Race and Everett due to fog, but there were good views from the lower parts of the Race Brook Trail, and Race Brook Falls was raging! Almost didn't do this hike, but I'm so glad I did! |
