Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Dropped car in Cheshire at the bike path parking near the Post Office. Grassy lot on Route 2 had a few cars in it, this parking area has an AT parking sign but it is facing the building across the street and not the road so easy to miss. Its very near the AT on north side of Route 2 between Philips Ave. and Protection Ave.

Comments
Comments: Julie and I spent the night before at Hotel Downstreet (very nice and decent price) in North Adams and at 7 am we started hiking South on the AT starting right where we left off where each of us had started the Long Trail. Walked through the community and it looks like it is a kind town to thru-hikers with an information kiosk and coolers of drinks. Nice switchbacks up to the outlook nearing Prospect Mt, we stopped a Sobo Thru hiker from going there and pointed him in direction of the AT. Mt. Williams had a gun barrel view thanks to some tree cutting, Cut More Trees Please. On top of Greylock we went into the war memorial and climbed the stairs up to the top and enjoyed a pretty decent view, we could see Monadnock! The Lodge is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, a lot of hikers were sad about this. Hiking from the summit all the way to Cheshire did feel like a really long downhill. We enjoyed the forest some really cool boulders. Nearing town a sign in front of a big rock read "Reynold's Rock Climb Me" and beneath it someone else added Totally Worth it. Well not really, I climbed up but it didn't really improve the view. This was a good 15.5 miles from car to car.
