Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: We spotted a car at the Walden Pond State Reservation. $30 for a non-MA resident but a plethora of parking (at least this time of year)!! We then drove over to the Heard Pond Parking area (shown on Gaia as Ludlow Griscom Trail Parking) where there is room for 2 cars.

Trail Maintenance Notes: I do not specifically recall any blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: I think there may be some places (such as Walden Pond) where they are not allowed but good trails for dogs. I think most conservation areas specifically require that they are leashed.

Comments
Comments: The usual circular BCT markers with the usually less common white rectangular markers tacked to trees as well. There are almost always places where additional markings or signs could be used though.

South to north traverse of Section 10 of the BCT. With a late start, we unfortunately did not have time for Section 10A afterward. There was minimal snow on the trail the whole way but virtually no where you needed to weary of ice. The only spot we got really turned around in and had trouble finding the trail was in Sedge Meadows where the trail bangs a left off a road (no markings) climbs a small rise with some trees, shows on some maps that it turns left (but I don't think it does), continues straight down into a field, then bangs a hard and obscure right that even in winter is very overgrown back into the woods. Walden Pond was of course scenic and of historical significance. Saw a few others here but not busy by any means. Gaia had us at 16mi, 450ft of gain, 6hr10min.
