Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I had a very gracious friend pick me up at the lot in Cross Point Office Park. From Rt 110, drive about halfway down, then look for a lot off to the right. This is the lot for the BCT. A few cars coming and going here but room for over a dozen I think. She then drove me over to the parking area on Carlisle Rd where I began my hike.

Comments
Comments: The usual circular BCT blazes. Probably some of the white markers on trees as well. Because this was almost all along a rail trail, there was not the usual ambiguity of where the trail goes at road crossings due to an occasional lack of blazes. I do not specifically recall ay blowdowns.

Third and final hike of the day of the day after Jeff Smith Trail and Willard Brook/Trap Falls. This is a good "hike" to do in the dark as virtually all of it is on a rail trail. I started at 4:15pm and hiked the short southern portion which is in the woods before it was dark and then was on the rail trail without a headlamp for the remainder of the time. The trail both on the paved rail trail and in the woods was sometimes covered with a dusting of snow, other times dry. There was some ice on the rail trail but it wasn't too slick and it never made sense to don my spikes. Note that the guidebook says that there's a gap Rt 225 to Carlisle Rd but this is no longer the case (consult the Bay Circuit Trail website or take a peek at the link below). I think the rail trail could perhaps get sketchy if you hiked it late at night but I finished before 7pm and felt very safe. Gaia had me at 8.4mi, 75ft of gain, 2hr33min.
