| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I parked at a public lot by Wayland Public Library on Rt 126 in the center of town just 0.1mi north of its jct with Rt 20. Plenty of room here and just a few other cars, some of which I think were public works. |

The guidebook says that they are not allowed at Mass Audobon's Drumlin Farm Wildlife Sanctuary. In many or all other places, they may be required to be on a leash, but good trails for dogs. |

| Comments: |
The BCT is marked with circular markings tacked to trees (and many telephone poles!), and, less frequently, with white plastic blazes tacked to trees. I think things were pretty well marked in the important places in this section.
First hike of the day. I'd hoped to hike this section after Section 10 with Crocamole a few days before but we ran out of time. I hiked from south to north, walking along the rail trail first, then hiking largely along trails to the old Codman Railroad Bridge at the trail's end. The trails and even the rail trail was mostly covered with a light dusting of snow I believe though that could have obviously changed by now. I had spikes with me but never thought of using them. With no car spot at the end, I walked back just shy of 5mi to my car by taking a trail 0.5mi west to Rt 126, then following Rt 126 south to my car in Wayland. As always, feel free to ask or a track if it would be helpful. Gaia had me at 12mi 250ft of gain, 3hr45min. |
