Comments
Comments: There’s some white blazing but it doesn’t seem to align with the loop described in the guidebook. No signage.

2nd hike of the day after redlining the trails on Holt Hill by Ward Reservation. The guidebook describes an OAB via the Bay Circuit Trail (BCT) which I’d already done and a 0.7mi loop which I had not. This is an instance where the guidebook does not make redlining easy: the loop is not described in much detail so it’s hard to know which of many trails in the area it refers to exactly so I just redlined them all. Also challenging because I’m pretty sure the loop it’s trying to describe is more than 0.7mi. What is described doesn’t exactly match reality either as the BCT starts at the trailhead; you don’t pass an icy with it. In any case, I wondered around and hiked 2.6mi with 100ft of gain. There was a couple inches of snow the whole way basically but it was melting. Minimal ice and no need for spikes.
