Bolton Pond Trail was broken by maybe one person with snowshoes, the trail was easy to follow and not taxing but is still a bit rough. I do not own snowshoes so I was in microspikes. After Balance Rock, there were tracks from several snowshoers who came from Balance Rock trail, and the rest of the route was broken in and smoothed out all the way to the summit (thank you, snowshoers!) I saw a few others at the summit also watching the sunrise, all of whom were wearing spikes. If he's reading this, best of luck to the gentleman hoping for a picture of the sun between the buildings!
The forecast had the sunrise at 6:37 so I planned to arrive at 6:30, but the sun was already above the city by then. Next time I'll plan to summit 20 minutes before the forecasted sunrise to see all of it! |
