Comments
Comments: Beautiful, bluebird day, so I was surprised to have seen no other hikers for my entire three hour hike (and this included two visits to the summit). The trails were all hard packed so light traction worked fine. I wore Hillsound Trail Crampon Pros (their ought to be a "hiking crampons" category for these and K-10s) and was glad to have their heel spikes coming down the steeps of Jack Frost, and to have their longer, more aggressive (than spikes) teeth for going up t he steeps of Harrington (where there were a number of stretches of flow ice that I just walked right up). On the way out I bushwhacked down to the ice falls (south of the lower part of the West Side Trail) and found the snow iced over hard enough that I could walk without punching through.
