 | Comments: |
Light snow off trail started at around 2800’. Cheshire Harbor was a brook nearly the entire way after leaving the early gravel road walk. At about 3,000’ the water running down the trail was frozen in spots and a firm monorail still stands around the tarn. It was in this section that I almost threw on my beater spikes. Decided not to and barebooted the whole way. The AT section was the only section needing careful foot placement, but there always seemed to be a well placed rock to step onto. Had the entire summit to myself today, was very windy and full on winter conditions with the wind chill. Crazy to end the hike in a snow squall. |
