Date of Hike
Date of Hike: Sunday, May 4, 2025
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: The main entrance to the state park between Crow Hill Pond and Crocker Pond is closed and gated so I had to park at the Crow Hill Pond parking lot and cross a path over the dam. This is a large paved lot with room for over a dozen cars. Signs remind you to not leave valuables in your car and to lock them. I saw a police pull in later so I think they patrol this area pretty regularly. Another option would be to park on Rocky Pond and access the trail from that direction but I'd already hiked Rocky Pond Rd so that option didn't make sense for my purposes.

Comments
Comments: 4th and final redline of the day after hiking sections 6, 7, and 8 of the Midstate Trail, the Beaver Bend - Pasture Loop at Wachusett Meadows, and the Crow Hill trails described in the guideboo just across the street. given where I parked, I did an OAB on the trail to the north, then an OAB on the trail to the south. The trail is pretty flat and has good footing. Given the downpours we'd just had and other recent rain, I don't think it was all that muddy either though my memory is foggy at this point. Just a few others out in the evening. Gaia had me at 1.6mi, 40ft of gain, 33min.
