Comments
Comments: I found the “start” of this hike to be a bit ambiguous. I’m not sure what the “marked main entrance” off of Gallivan Blvd could be as Gallivan Blvd seems to end where it crosses 93 and at this point, it’s still Pope John Paul II Park whereas it says it takes 0.2mi to reach the park from the start. Also, north of Pope JPII Park, is Senator Finnegan Park but there’s no parking there I saw.

Trail signs at some jcts/road crossings. No markings beyond that.

Nice little post work redline of the part of the Lower Neponset River Trail needed for redlining. Like I said in the parking section, it’s a little unclear where the trail starts. Port Norfolk seems to refer to the area around Senator Finnegan Park but this is more than 0.2mi north of Pope JPII Park and there’s didn’t seem to be parking here. I parked at Neponset River Park and did and OAB north to Water St in Senator Finnegan Park and south to Central St in Milton. The trail extends north and south at both of these points but this is all that’s described in the guidebook. The trail is flat, I think was entirely paved, if not mostly, and has some scenic parts. Obviously very busy but I don’t mind that on occasion. I think this is the trail closest to the city described in the guidebook. Very dark skies but no rain or thunder here! Gaia had me at 5mi, 30ft of gain, 1hr39min.
