Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: There's really nowhere to park on the southern end by Adams Inn (unless you break the rules and park in their lot) so after scoping that out, I drove up to Squantum Point where there's room for probably hundreds of cars! Signs indicate that cars left overnight will be towed and you aren't supposed to park there at night.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: None
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: There were usually signs at jcts and road crossings telling you which way to go for the Quincy Riverwalk. No other blazes/markings and no blowdowns.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Dogs are allowed but must be leashed.
Bugs
Bugs: It was interesting because I didn't notice them the entire time until I was on my way back, it was dark, and, at least in this one particular spot, I was getting eaten alive!!
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: 2nd post-work hike of the day after the nearby Neponset River Trail. These two redlines can actually be combined by walking across the Neponset River along Rt 3A but I didn't think to do this at the time. After parking in the very large Squantum Point lot, I hiked west along the dirt trail toward Squantum Point. When the trail reaches the paved roads by Squantum Point, note that the trail does not cross them in the shortest line distance but actually heads NW out to the point. If heading north along the trail, there's a sign indicating this, but I don't think there was anything to say this if heading south. Note that a lot of people fish along the section near Boston Scientific at night. I didn't find them particularly sketchy but they were sometimes in the way of the trail. The trail is dirt sometimes in "the woods" when you might deign to call it woods but is largely on roads or paved as well. It wasn't hard to follow as it was marked pretty well as it came to roads. There were a lot of bunnies hopping along the trail and that's been something I;ve been meaning to mention in my reports. So many bunnies compared to NH! Gaia had me at 4.6mi, 22ft of gain, 1hr27min.
