 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
The parking is at the "Dead End" (look for the sign!) right off the exit. Room for several cars here but I could see it overflowing or someone blocking someone else in. I arrived at 6:30pm and there was maybe a half dozen with room for maybe a few more. When I returned at 7:45pm, I was the last one. |

2nd post-work hike of the day after redlining nearby Yellow and Green Loops at Houghtons Pond. I hiked the loop counterclockwise. I missed the spur out to the edge of the pond along the bog which might have been nice to do. Note that the trail goes *through* the golf course, not just merely along the edge of it as I thought it did based upon what the guidebook said. When I came up on golfers and a tee, I retreated, thinking I'd missed a turn but had not and had to make an awkward second appearance, haha. Watch out for golf balls! The trail has just minor ups and downs and the footing is usually good. Several people out but much less busy than Houghtons Pond and more scenic in my opinion. I think it's the older, more mature sibling of Houghtons Pond. Gaia had me at 4.2mi, 100ft of gain, 1hr14min. |
