Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: hikers are to park at base of Halligan Avenue in Shelburne. Side of road has a really steep tar berm but I was able to finagle the steep edge with my Prius slowly. Also, road is steep and you need to turn around not too far up, so, I'd say there is parking for maybe a half dozen cars. Note, this is RIGHT off Route 2 so traffic is quite quick getting on/off Route 2.

Comments
Comments: Terrific late day hike on my way back from Zoar Outdoors just down the road. I've seen the firetower trail sign off route 2 many times and wondered what it was about - it's delightful!!! I think around 2.8 or 2.9 Mi RT and around 1000' elev. So, you do all this climbing in the heat and at the top - a gorgeous stone tower from 1909. I was half-hoping the door would be locked but it wasn't.... up up up the spiral stone steps inside to just below the cab. The view from the top windows was really outstanding. Saw 1 person leaving as I arrived, and then 1 person arrived as I was leaving. Super nice.
