 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Large sign at the roadside: Mount Frissell Trailhead. Parking is free, the parking area will fit a few cars. Mine was the only car when I arrived and departed. There's also a little cleared area across the street, similar size, signed with Nature Conservancy: Public Access Permitted. So I suppose you could park there, too. The road was fine, it is a very well maintained unpaved public road. |

 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
the vegetation on the sides of the trail could use some trimming. The red trail blazes could use a fresh coat of paint, especially on the rocky ledges. |

 | Comments: |
The trail is blazed with red paint, both on trees and on rocky ledges. There is a re-purposed ammunition box with hiker registers at both Frissell's summit and the Connecticut state highpoint. There is a cairn at the highpoint as well. Round Mountain isn't just something you hurry past to reach Frissell; it has worthwhile long-distance vistas at its summit. I didn't continue down the trail to the NY-CT-MA state boundary marker, but apparently it's close by. I am a slow to moderate paced hiker and the trip out & back took me 2 hours. |
