 | Comments: |
The start of Roaring Brook (flat section) had lightly accumulated, unconsolidated powder. Snow depth was increasing with elevation, but nothing substantial. At Sperry Rd, it appears that there is about 8” on the ground. Continued on with micro-spikes until the Overlook Trail junction (switched to snow shoes), which was really just personal choice. You could make it without snow shoes. At the Cheshire Harbor junction (just before the pond), the trail was entirely broken out, like a highway. Switched back to spikes on the last leg to the summit, and stayed in those for the rest of the day. What a beautiful day up there! |
