Date of Hike: Sunday, January 11, 2026
Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: I parked on Green Woods Rd off of Rt Rt 32. There was a plowed-out spot along the road with room for at least a couple of cars, right where the AT crosses it.
Surface Conditions
Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Snow - Trace/Minimal Depth, Wet Trail, Ice - Blue, Snow/Ice - Frozen Granular, Snow/Ice - Small Patches
Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment: Light Traction
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: I think the trail stayed on the north and east side of the brook and never actually crossed it, so any crossings there were in this section were minor.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: The NET/MMT is blazed in white, and I think pretty regularly—no problems following it in this section.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Sure
Bugs
Bugs: There may have been snowfleas given how warm it was.
Lost and Found
Lost and Found: None

Comments
Comments: This was a short redline of another piece of the NET (called the MMT in NH). I did an OAB to the north from Green Woods Rd to where a friend and I parked on Monument Rd the day before (1mi south of Rt 32), then an OAB to the south to the trail's jt with Tully Trail. Not nearly enough snow for snowshoes at the time, but spikes were more or less necessary for at least one section south along the brook, though I didn't wear them for long as there was also a good deal of bare ground at the time. The section to the south was scenic, following the brook, and going through a section of mountain laurel (or was it rhododendron... whatever nice little bush litters the southern part of NH here and parts of MA). The section to the north went through a logging cut so could be a bit hard to follow and overgrown, but offered some little views before heading back into the woods along a road. Only minor changes in elevation. Gaia had me at 5mi, about 350ft of gain, 2hr15min.
