 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Parking at East Hill Road can hold 3 or 4 cars. One car was there when we spotted ours at 1:30 pm. When we got back there at nightfall, there was still one other car, but a different one. Plenty of parking at Spencer Country Inn. |

|
 | Trail Maintenance Notes: |
A few small blowdowns. A couple looked fresh, like we were the first to come across them. Had I had my Sven Saw I could have cleared them. But I neglected to bring it. So we stepped on or over them, breaking them up the best we could. |

 | Dog-Related Notes: |

 | Bugs: |
There are a lot of grassy areas of the trail but we did not find ticks on us later. The potential for ticks exists however. We DEETed up but mosquitoes were only occasional. We did run into some yellow jackets and two of us got stung. This was in the woods just south of Browning Pond Lane. |

 | Lost and Found: |
Snap found a quarter on the Moose Hill dam. |

 | Comments: |
A Section of our South to North hike on the Midstate trail. We started at Spencer Country Inn and went the 12 miles or so to East Hill Road. We didn't run but knew we had to keep up about a 2 mph pace to reach the end around nightfall. Took us actually 5 hours 50 minutes. We paused little, only to take care of a blister issue a couple of times and an occasional other necessity. Maybe we will start earlier in the day for the rest of the season so as to enjoy the scenery better.
Thanks to Mrs Greatoz, DMW, Snapsquatch and Couch Puppy. |
