A redo from last week introducing a friend to snowshoeing. First half is snowmobile trail so keep eyes and ears open - saw one that made it aboue .5 miles past the small bridge before turning around. Nothing but wet and sticky snow from top to bottom; a few rocks also starting to show through. Wore snowshoes the entire trip which worked perfectly - all others we saw on the trail were barbooting and sinking a couple of inches - a small section with deep post holes up top just beore the tower. Nothing but fog heading to the trailhead but broke out above it into sun at about 1500 feet. An amazing undercast in all directions stretching as far as the eye could see that left nothing but the peaks visible today. |
