Parking/Access Road Notes

Lost and Found
Lost and Found: Found the pieces of someone's sled on Fire Wardens. The bright red and blue plastic contrasted nicely with nature. :(

Comments
Comments: Since I couldn't drive all the way in I decided to take the AT. There is still snow and ice on the bog section. Spikes worked great. Then the trail is mostly bare until around 2500'. From there on it was snowshoe territory. There is still about two feet of snow and it didn't support me without snowshoes. The descent down Fire Wardens was exciting to say the least. Easy to pick up speed on the slushy surface and hard to regain control. Lower down it is a mix of running/ standing water, mud, and rotten snow. I don't think there is a single piece of gear for this section except waterproof boots. Just an incredible day on a beautiful mountain.
