Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: From Abol Stream (Park boundary) to Katahdin there are 5 bridged crossings. There are 2 unbridged crossings of Nesowadnehunk Stream that are not advisable at this time due to water levels. I used the Highwater Bypass trail that parallels this A.T. section to eliminate these 2 crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Our group of 9 Maine A.T. Club trail maintainers went on our annual spring maintenance work trip of the A.T. in Baxter State Park. We cleared blowdowns, clipped brush and branches and cleaned waterbars on the 15 mile length of the A.T. in Baxter State Park.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Per Governor Baxter's rules, pets are not allowed in the park he founded. He had dogs all his life but even he left them at home when he visited the park.
Bugs
Bugs: A few blackflies but the temperature was still cool enough to keep them at bay.

Comments
Comments: A great trip with good friends. We got a lot of work done and the A.T. in the park is ready for the hiking season. Some other volunteers were working on the other trails in the Kidney Pond and Daicey Pond areas.
