This trek began and ended at the Saddleback ski area where I was staying at a condo. I used the well-worn pathways along the Gray Ghost and Tri Color ski trails to reach the Saddleback ridgeline. The Appalachian Trail was used to hike between Saddleback Mountain and The Horn. As would be expected, there were occasional muddy spots, but other than that, the entire route was clear and trouble-free.
