Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Long Falls Dam Road is paved but lumpy and bumpy. The East Flagstaff Road is gravel and in good shape. An old gravel pit serves as the parking area. Mine was the only vehicle there today.

Water Crossing Notes: None on this section of the A.T. 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Trail is in good shape. There were 2 step over blowdowns and 1 duck under. I cleared 3 small blowdowns and clipped some branches as I hiked.

Dog-Related Notes: Saw 2 that were panting very hard on the climb.

Comments
Comments: A really nice day for this hike. Clear sky early then partly cloudy. Great views from the various ledge viewpoints. Fog early on Flagstaff Lake then it cleared by 9 AM. Saw about 20 thru hikers either north bound or southbound. Hiked from East Flagstaff Road to Safford Notch Campsite and back.
