An easy one for the canines - met a friendly German Shepard today. Technically in the park so dogs are supposed to be leashed. |

A small peak in Acadia but one of the last 2 with a trail I haven't been up; trail is an easy up though I like the extended bog bridges; make sure and visit the Champlain monument off a side trail a few yards in from trailhead. Only a few patches of ice along the way which can be avoided. Good views from the ledges 1/3 mile below the summit. A carriage road goes to the top off of which you can also find some views. Took day trail up and over summit and connected with carriage road on other side to make a nice loop. The cleft along the carriage road was interesting with ice chunks falling off the steep cliff face. |
