Parking/Access Road Notes: Success Pond Road has been smoothed out somewhat and it is better than a few weeks ago..watch the small boulders; plenty of parking at the Speck Pond Trailhead..

Surface Conditions: Dry Trail, Wet Trail, Wet/Slippery Rock, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable

Water Crossing Notes: a couple done with rock/log hops 
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: there has been logging over the winter starting at the trailhead area off of Success Pond Road; the footbed is visible, though there is a lot of debris; some blazes (blue) still visible but some trees with blazes are gone; about 30 min in the logging veers away from the trail and it is good up to the sharp turn...

Comments: the lower part of the Speck Pond Trail can be followed with care through the logged area and once out the trail is fine...for those who have never been on this trail, very nice along the brook (pools and cascades)and a gentle/moderate grade makes for a nice hike...
