| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
I came in on Morton Cutoff and Tim Pond From the south. The roads were clear of snow, although a bit icy. I did this in a small 2wd. I was happy to find that wiggle brook road was cleared although narrower than the other roads. The only log truck I passed was on wiggle and I had very little room to move over. He was going fast and came quite close (as they do). I may have imagined it, but I think he shock his head not wanting me there. I parked on Wiggle, pulling off as far as I could (almost all the way out of the road). I drove Tim Pond east to stratton on the way out and it was all clear. Bear brook road (from wiggle and used for white cap) is not cleared). |

| Comments: |
I started near a kiosk style sign on Wiggle brook road, just past the town line. I started bushwhacking in open woods, eventually hitting a skidder road that I used to make a little headway. I was only sinking a little at this point, as there was some consolidation. I headed up very steeply. Eventually, the snow got very deep and was mainly unconsolidated. I was often up to my waist, trying to kick down a 'wall' of snow. There were many spruce traps and other surprises under the snow. It took hours, but I made the recognized high point and followed my tracks out.
I would love it if someone could use these tracks. Remember that I started just past a townline and a kiosk style sign. I have some concern that the lower tracks could blow in, but I feel the majority of the route should make it to next snow. |
