| Dog-Related Notes: |
our dog, Holly, did great. He was well over chest high at several points while we were packing out the trail. Tough going on the super steep pitch up South Horn but a valiant dog can succeed. Should be much easier now trail is packed. |

Amazing hike up to the Horns. Easy going for the 1st 3 miles till we got to the intersection of the AT and the Bigelow Range Trail. Bigelow Trail back to Stratton had been packed out but no trace of hikers heading East. Sean and I navigated through the deep snow and packed out 3 miles all the way to North & South Horn. It took us a good 2 1/2 hrs to hike from the Bigelow Ridge Trail intersection to the Horn's Pond lean to (that was a welcome site). Beautiful weather, we even got some sunshine. Perfect Spring Winter Day in Maine. Of note the Horn's Pond Trail has not been packed, unsure about the Fire Warden's Trail. |
