Parking/Access Road Notes
Parking/Access Road Notes: Elephant Mountain Road no longer has a sign (there is a post but no road sign) and sneaks up on you from South Arm Rd. Road was rough going but my outback made it all the way to the cairn indicating the start of the bushwhack.

Comments
Comments: I wasn't confident and felt slightly under prepared not knowing which peak the canister is on. All trip reports say SW knob however my (old) topo map elevations show the NE knob the higher peak. The cairn marking parking is obvious however the cairn marking the herd path appears to be missing (or I took the wrong herd path). I followed and crossed several overgrown skidder trails following the path of least resistance and minimal traces of a herd path that I'd lose, find, lose and find through the downed trees to the SW knob and canister.
