 | Parking/Access Road Notes: |
Very few folks took advantage of new advance parking reservation system. Abol was full up and I believe Roaring Brook got closed. Really nice to drive up to the gate at a reasonable time of the morning and drive right in. |

An excellent day hiking. Windy but with the right gear it kept things cool. 100 Mile visibility. Reminded me of a later season hike. Met Nelson Daigle a local legend, he has climbed Katahdin over 400 times, this was his seventh hike this season. He is 71 and only hikes the local mountains around Millinocket.
As usual the Hunt trail still has more than a few challenging spots that night be a problem with those uncomfortable with bouldering.
