Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: big crossing bridged with a board across that was actually pretty stable, Kali even used it. Great place to clean up after the hike with a beer as well!
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: Lots of erosion down low on the AT as it climbs away from the river. It is steep in this area so hard to prevent/fix. Trails in good shape, lots of use on all but Abraham Side Trail
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: Kali used the board for water crossing. Good water along the way and it stayed over cast so she was comfortable. The sun came out on Abraham but she had no issues with that or the rock fields, she hikes in the Whites, ya know?
Bugs
Bugs: none an issue, again around dinner at the end of the day they came out

Comments
Comments: Day two was the long day. Everyone we chatted with seemed impressed that we did the three in one day as an out and back. Must not be a lot of Grid hikers in Maine! Great ridge walk, felt like parts of the sleepers. Good views with a little haze from Sugarloaf. Spaulding had a moose skull but not lots of views. Found the rest of the moose on the side trail to Abraham. It appears the moose had its last day in the middle of the trail this past winter. Abraham is a little bit of Northern Pressies in Maine. What a great little peak. We met many thru hikers out there over the weekend. Many smiling faces and some that didn't seem like they were enjoying their time. All in all, not a lot of people, Maine for the 4th was the place to be!
