Comments
Comments: This was our first 4K in Maine as we are starting our quest for the NE 67. This was a great mountain on a great weather day. We highly recommend the Eyebrow Trail. The railings and iron rungs were a blast. That being said, it is also a steep trail at times. The whole mountain is a good workout. Most of the trail is in good shape and evident where the trail is. The only problem we had was when we met up with the Old Speck Trail and wasn't sure which way to turn, it's a right BTW! LOL Shortly getting on the Old Speck Trail it was our pleasure to run into Pepper and Me. We enjoyed meeting and chatting with them.
The Old Speck Trail felt like a very long 2 1/2 miles. Probably because it didn't have any Iron Rung entertainment. LOL It did go through a variety of forest changes though, which were nice. It was very mossy in spots that looked as though it would be so comfortable to take a nap on. :)
The Mahoosuc Trail is a welcome sight and it is only 0.3 miles of flat hiking to the summit. The summit features an old fire tower converted to a observation tower which provides 360 degree views.
We did post a video for anyone interested in seeing the trail conditions or the hike itself. Just click the link...
