| Parking/Access Road Notes: |
We drove in from ZEC Mont Gosford Headquarters (Quebec) self-registered and paid $10.25 (Canadian $). ($10.25 per car) For the 8.3 miles to the gravel pit, roads were covered with snow and ice, passable in a 4WD vehicle. The last mile or so is a little more rough and would be difficult for a low clearance vehicle. Conditions may change with the rain and rising temps. |

| Comments: |
We followed the usual route from the S/SE corner of the gravel pit, passed the tall hoist for moose on the left, crossed a small brook (5-6 in. deep for us), and climbed the steep ATV track to the boundary swath. The ATV track had about 2 inches of fresh snow over ice, and microspikes were essential. The boundary swath had 2-4 inches of snow over ice, though conditions will likely change significantly after all the rain and rising temperatures today and in the coming days. There is a cairn at the peak and the canister nearby in the woods: sign says Panther, canister says Boundary. Notebook inside ziplock bag within canister in good shape. We had great views to the north, east and south, and were able to identify White Cap, NKD, Snow-Chain of Ponds, Bigelows, Crockers... |
