| Comments: |
The road walk in to the summer trail head is heavily snowmobiled so it is not a difficult walk (we used microspikes for a little bit of traction). A snowmobiler did some exploring on the trail for a little while and as was previously reported someone had broken trail until Moose Falls at which point they switched to crampons. We used snowshoes from where the snowmobiler stopped until we were back at the car. After Moose Falls Campsite the going gets really steep! I would recommend snowshoes with really good traction. Everything had drifted back in towards the col and Avery summit so we broke that out and broke out West peak about 2 feet in places and even deeper in other places. Fun day out! |
