I hike Mt Washington last Sunday….I gotta say Old Speck really kicked my butt! Probably wouldn't have been as bad if I had brought my hillsound crampons. I just had very inadequate traction. I highly recommend crampons or microspikes. DO NOT TAKE EYE BROW LOOP! Unless you are looking for a huge challenge…we thought we would shave off 0.2 by taking Eyebrow back down. It was incredibly dangerous with tons of ice on very steep rocks. Pretty scary trying to descend. We turned around and went back to the main trail for the rest of the descend. |
