Appalachian Trail from Rte 4.
Microspikes or crampons necessary for the ascent through shaded, wooded areas before the alpine zone. Large sections of ice on steep terrain make traction necessary. Packed snow in other areas can be done in boots, no snowshoes necessary. Summit is clear of snow and ice due to its sun exposure. |
