Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: Wooden bridges on first 3 crossings north of Abol Bridge and a couple of easy rock hops on 2 other crossings. Did not ford Nesowadnehunk Stream as the water was deep, cold and fast, used the Highwater Bypass Trail instead.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: This is my section of the A.T. in Baxter State Park, that I maintain for the Maine A.T. Club. I cleared many branches off of the trail as well as 23 small blowdowns with my handsaw. I will be back in a few weeks to clear about 10 bigger blowdowns with my chainsaw.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes: No pets allowed in B.S.P. Even Governor Baxter, who bought this land to protect it, did not bring his dogs into the park.

Comments
Comments: A really nice day with temps from 30 to 50 with sunny, blue sky and breezy at times. Got some trail work done and enjoyed the A.T. from Abol Bridge to Daicey Pond in B.S.P. Saw 2 hikers on the trail and 1 hiker and his dog that was beginning a south bound hike from Abol to Springer Mt. These 2 trails are mostly dry but there is a little bit of snow and ice as you get closer to Daicey Pond. Baxter Park doesn't open until May 15th, if road conditions are good.
