Comments
Comments: Nice views from many outlook points. Observation tower at summit requires climbing up ladder. Can see Mt Washington to the south, Kilkenny Peaks to the southwest, Percy Peaks to the west, Lake Umbagog to the northwest, Baldpate to the north, Mt Blue (Weld) to the northeast, Sunday River and Pleasant Mtn to the southeast. There were no difficult trail sections. Trails mainly dry with a few wet areas especially on the lowest section of the Old Speck Trail near the brook. The cascade would probably be nice in the spring during the melt season. The gray jays at the summit were relatively timid compared to the birds around Crawford Notch.
