Recommended Equipment
Recommended Equipment:
Water Crossing Notes
Water Crossing Notes: No unbridged crossings.
Trail Maintenance Notes
Trail Maintenance Notes: All fine. I agree with the recommended counterclockwise direction, as I wouldn't want to descend the steep portions of the Center Ridge Trail, especially near the end of a long hike. The Rangers post "latest recommended start times" by month, and for October it is 9 am, which we beat by 30 minutes. We were back long before sunset.
Dog-Related Notes
Dog-Related Notes:
Bugs
Bugs: Some mosquitoes, especially around the parking lot.

Comments
Comments: 10 years to the day after my first Travelers Loop (and it was new then), I hiked my second, with some of the same friends. This hike will never grow old, as long as the sun is shining for the sake of the spectacular above-treelike views that extend for miles. It is also practically uninhabited, in comparison with the trails to Katahdin. Excellent foliage to boot, as we experienced a decade ago.
