Snowshoes from beginning to end. Nice layer of crust. Temps were cold but not tolerable. I met two people on top of Saddleback that had come up from the Condos and then saw no one until I got back to the bottom. Trip out to Horn had been tracked out by someone who knew the route a day or two earlier. 90-95% was on track the rest was an intelligent use of the terrain to stay out of Spruce traps. Probably one of the prettiest hikes I've ever been on and the light changed on the way back to give a whole different effect. |
