Comments
Comments: We royally screwed this hike up. First, parked on the wrong road - careful, the roads have some very significant ruts in them. We ended up bush whacking to the real road, which did add 1,000 feet of elevation to our hike. The real road is open and some of the culverts are rusted through which could spell serious trouble for those trying to cross over them. Finally made it to the old logging road which was easy enough to follow. It got progressively muddier with pockets of cold air settling in between the elevation dips. Once we reached the bushwhacked area, there were streams running underneath very unstable snow & ice. A bit further in and we encountered waist deep snow. Since the snow shoes were at the car, we abandoned this crazy, poorly planned hike. I wouldn't recommend trying this again until mid-June or so.
