| Comments: |
Went up and down Old Speck Trail. Someone must have attempted the Eyebrow because there were footprints on the way back that weren't there in the morning. Trail was packed snow with about a 1" dusting from the previous night. There was one person ahead of me in microspikes who broke through the thin snow cover. Micro spikes were very suitable for most of the trip.
About a mile from the summit the trail got steeper and the snow deer. I had to switch to snowshoes and saw the other hiker headed down so I broke the rest of the trail. Snow was generally about 12" deep from there to the top. Summit was wonderful but cold. On the way down, ran into two other parties of hikers who were only in micro spikes. |
