| Surface Conditions: |
Wet Trail, Standing/Running Water on Trail, Mud - Minor/Avoidable |

| Water Crossing Notes: |
Several water crossings. All manageable to maintain dry boots. Some slippery rocks |
| Trail Maintenance Notes: |
Trail is relatively easy to follow, though blue blazes are scarce in places. Fortunately, the trail is easy enough to recognize. There are several blowdowns after Teardrop pond, however, they are all easy to go over, under or around. |
| Dog-Related Notes: |
No dogs allowed in Baxter State Park |
| Bugs: |
The blackflies were in full force, but not bad during the hike. I found them to be worse at my campsite at Nesowadnahunk Field Campground |

| Comments: |
This was a great hike. The views from the peak are fantastic; perhaps as good as from Katahdin. It is a steep hike and offers little in the way of views during the ascent. You get a few spots with good views, but the real gift comes at the top!! |
