The trail up Big Moose Mountain (formerly and still sometimes called Big Squaw Mountain) was in great shape from bottom to top and was blazed/maintained well. Parts of the steeper second half had rock/wooden steps, which helped a lot, especially on the hike down. Great directional views toward Moosehead Lake and the peaks of the 100-Mile Wilderness from the summit.
#34 on the New England 50 Finest is in the bag! |
